The Dallas Stars have announced that they have signed Winterhawks center Taylor Peters to a three-year entry level contract, beginning with the 2013-14 season. Peters will remain with the Winterhawks for the duration of the 2012-13 season.
Peters has played 313 career games with the Winterhawks, tying him for fourth in franchise history. He’s scored a career-high 13 goals this season, and with 24 assists his 37 points are one shy of last season’s career-high of 38. In his 313 career games Peters has totaled 43 goals and 68 assists for 111 points.
“Taylor is one of the hardest-working players we’ve seen here with the Winterhawks, and he’s incredibly deserving of this contract,” said Winterhawks Acting Head Coach Travis Green. “Taylor is a versatile player who can play in all situations. He’s one of our most valuable players on the ice and an important voice among our leadership group off the ice.”
Last season Peters won the team’s Best Defensive Player award, and was a co-winner of the Scholastic Player of the Year Award. The Winterhawks selected Peters in the fourth round, 68th overall, of the 2007 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
Group ticket packages for the remainder of the regular season and 2013 WHL Playoffs are now available. Contact the Winterhawks today at 236-HAWK or email email@example.com for details.
