Winterhawks unveil Portland Buckaroos throwback uniform for ‘Jersey Off Their Backs’

Portland, Ore. – The Buckaroos are back! The Portland Winterhawks today announced a specialty Portland Buckaroos-inspired uniform to be worn this Saturday, March 18, for Oregon Hockey History Night. The jerseys will also be raffled off during this year’s WAHA “Jersey Off Their Backs” Night on March 24.

Modeled after the Buckaroos’ 1936-edition sweater, the jersey features a black base with a thick red stripe through the center and an off-center logo placed in the lower-left portion of the torso. The logo used on this sweater is an updated version of the one used by the Buckaroos in the 1960’s, combining multiple eras of Oregon hockey history in one uniform.

Players’ names and numbers adorn the back in white block text, while the Buckaroos’ alternate “P” logo and WAHA logo highlight the shoulders of each sweater. Felt-pattern accents surround the jersey crest and numbers to resemble the material used on the original uniforms.
