Winterhawks Acquire Corbin Boes

The Portland Winterhawks have acquired veteran goaltender Corbin Boes from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for forward Steven Alldridge and a second round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Boes is in his 20-year-old season, with 51 career wins, a goals against average of 3.52 and .901 save percentage in 152 games over four seasons with the Hurricanes and Brandon Wheat Kings.

“Corbin is a veteran goaltender whose experience will be a big asset to us as we enter the second half of the season,” said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “He’s proven to be a very good goaltender in the WHL and we look forward to adding him to our lineup.”

Alldridge had played 24 games in his first season with the Winterhawks. The WHL trade deadline is Friday at 11 a.m. Pacific time.

The acquisition of Boes is the second move the Hawks have made in the last two days, after sending the rights to Adam Tambellini to Calgary yesterday. With Tambellini suiting up for the Hitmen last night, Portland will receive a first round pick in the 2014 Bantam Draft and a conditional pick in the 2015 Draft.

Premier membership season tickets and 20-game plans for the 2013-14 season are on sale now. They start at only $37 per month and include playoffs. Visit or call 503-236-HAWK to reserve the best seat locations.
