Last Thursday was an exciting day for hundreds of young hockey players all around North America, as the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft took place in Red Deer, Alberta.
It was also an exciting day for the general managers, scouts and coaches who plan all year long for draft day. Portland selected 11 players last Thursday, six forwards, four defensemen, and one goaltender.
All of these players were born in 2003, meaning they will not be able to play their first full season in the Western Hockey League with Portland until the 2019-20 season.
