Thirteen Winterhawks Named on NHL Opening Night Rosters

Portland, Ore. –  The Portland Winterhawks, proud member club of the Western Hockey League, are proud to share today that 13 Winterhawks are listed on NHL opening night rosters for the 2021-22 regular season.

Among WHL teams, Portland has the second most players starting the season in the NHL.  Notably, Winterhawks 2020-21 alternate captain Seth Jarvis made the Carolina Hurricanes opening night roster as a 19-year-old player.

The Winterhawks are represented on ten of the 32 NHL teams, including the newest franchise the Seattle Kraken. The Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators each have two roster players with Winterhawks connections.
