Portland Holds 11th Overall Pick in 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Western Hockey League announced today the results of the 2021 U.S. Priority Draft Lottery and the Portland Winterhawks will hold the 11th and 34th overall selections in this winter’s draft.
The 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft is scheduled to be held Wednesday, December 8. The draft will consists of 44 overall selections and the 22 WHL Member Clubs will each make two selections to add to their prospect pool.
Last year, the Winterhawks selected prestigious Americans Alex Weirmair and Jason Zaccari with their two picks in the inaugural draft.
Players eligible for the 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft will be 2006-born players who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
Players not selected in the 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft will remain eligible to be selected in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, or listed by a WHL Club at any time thereafter.
