Hanas Invited to USA Development Camp

Ben Ludeman

Portland Winterhawks forward Cross Hanas was invited to USA Hockey’s Select 17 Player Development Camp that will be held in Amherst, New York from June 25 to July 1, 2019.

The camp provides the United States’ top 2002-born players a week of training and coaching from elite instructors, as well as the opportunity to compete against their peers from across the country. The camp is also used to select the roster for the U.S. Under-18 Select Team that competes at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup each August.

This is the third straight summer Hanas will participate in a USA Hockey Development Camp. Winterhawks prospects Matthew Knies, Joe Miller, Jackson Nieuwendyk, and Aidan Thompson were also invited to the camp. Last year, Winterhawks defensemen Clay Hanus and Nick Perna attended the 2018 Select 17 Development Camp.
