Game Won
The playoffs always bring the best out of every team, and Friday’s Game 1 between Portland and Everett was no different. Each team traded chances for 60 minutes, momentum swinging wildly like a pendulum. Ultimately, some timely power-play work from the Winterhawks proved to be the difference as the hosts took a 4-3 victory and opened up a 1-0 series lead.

Tonight, the teams are right back to it with another crucial win on the line. No, the series won’t be decided tonight, but the result will make the difference between Portland taking control of the series and Everett heading home on even terms with plenty of confidence. Bring the noise and make sure the Hawks head north with a 2-0 lead!

“Let’s just clean the slate after each game. Take a couple of hours to enjoy it, digest it, and then we’ll get ready as a coaching staff and pull the necessary information from the video, take a look at the game, and see what we can bring into (Saturday’s) game. You know they are going to make adjustments so we gotta be ready,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Johnston.
