Brendan De Jong Signs Pro Contract

The Portland Winterhawks are pleased to announce Western Hockey League graduate Brendan De Jong has signed his first professional contract with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL.

De Jong (6-5, 198 lbs.) signed with the Edmonton Oilers’ affiliate days after participating in their rookie camp. He is currently attending AHL training camp in Bakersfield, California.

The Winterhawks alternate captain posted a career high 27 points in just 51 games during the 2018-19 season. The defenseman finished his WHL career with 317 career regular season games which is tied for fifth all time in Winterhawks history.

The Pacific Office Automation home opener is September 21st against the Tri-City Americans at the Moda Center. Individual tickets are on sale now for all 2019 home games.
