Andy Kemper returns to do play-by-play for the Winterhawks, and he'll have a new partner this season as Todd Vrooman, son of Scooter, will handle the radio analyst duties. Check out their bios below.

Andy Kemper, Radio Play-By-Play
The 2009-10 season will be the sixth season for Andy Kemper behind the mic for Winterhawks games, and his third as the play-by-play voice. 

A native Oregonian, Kemper attended the first-ever Winterhawk game in October of 1976 at the age of 10 and was hooked. After over 20 years as a fan and season ticket holder, Kemper joined the broadcast crew as the color analyst in 2004-05 working alongside Dean "Scooter" Vrooman. When Vrooman retired prior to the 2007-08 season, Kemper slid over to the play-by-play chair. 

A self-proclaimed "stats geek", Kemper tracks a variety of statistics that help add another depth to his broadcasts. In addition to his hockey radio duties, Kemper also works full time as a software salesman in the electronic design automation market. 

Kemper resides in Hillsboro with his wife Vicki and daughter Aiden.

Todd Vrooman, Radio Analyst

Todd Vrooman begins his first season with the Winterhawks' broadcast team as the radio analyst.
 
Vrooman, the son of long-time Winterhawks radio play-by-play announcer Dean “Scooter” Vrooman, will work all 36 Winterhawks home games alongside play-by-play announcer Andy Kemper. Vrooman fills the position that was vacated when Mark Ertle was named executive director of the Winterhawks Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA).
 
At 20 years of age Vrooman becomes the youngest broadcaster in the WHL. A graduate of Tualatin High School, Vrooman is currently enrolled at Portland Community College. He also has extensive hockey experience, having played in the Junior Hawks program until he was 18.
