Winterhawks Trade Joe Mahon To Calgary

The Portland Winterhawks have acquired a fourth round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional sixth round pick in 2015 from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for forward Joe Mahon.

Mahon played 41 games for the Hawks last season, registering two goals and an assist for three points along with 133 penalty minutes. He had offseason surgery following the MasterCard Memorial Cup and has yet to suit up in 2013-14.

“Joe came to training camp last season for a tryout as a list player and ended up making the team, which is something few players are able to do,” said Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “We wish Joe all the best as he continues his career in his hometown of Calgary.”

Season tickets and 20-, 12- and 6-game ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are on sale now. Visit winterhawks.com or call 503-236-HAWK to reserve the best seat locations.
