Winterhawks Sign Prospect Tyson Kozak

The Portland Winterhawks are pleased to announce the signing of prospect Tyson Kozak. Kozak, a 15-year-old center from Souris, Manitoba, was selected in the 6th round, 121th overall by the Winterhawks in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

The 5’10” center spent the 2017-18 season with Southwest Cougars Manitoba Midget AAA league. In 44 games, Kozak had 10 goals and 25 assists.

“Tyson plays with speed and tempo and proved that he can play in this league by having a very good training camp,” said Portland Winterhawks Vice President, General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston.

Kozak will play his first games in a Winterhawks jersey this weekend during the Everett tournament.

The Winterhawks begin their 2018-19 home schedule on September 29th versus the Seattle Thunderbirds. Season tickets and packages are on sale now, visit for full details on pricing and availability.
