Three Winterhawks on NHL Central Scouting “Players to Watch” List

NHL Central Scouting has listed Brad Ginnell, Jake Gricius and John Ludvig on their November “Players to Watch” list for the 2018 NHL entry draft.

All three Winterhawks were given a “C” rating, which indicates they are fourth/fifth/sixth round candidates. Gricius was on the NHL Central Scouting’s preseason “Players to Watch” list, while Ginnell and Ludvig are listed for the first time.

Forward Brad Ginnell, originally a 5th round selection of the Winterhawks in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, is in his second season with Portland. He has five goals and two assists in 12 games this year.

Forward Jake Gricius is in his second season with the Winterhawks. In 18 games this season, the 6’3″ center has one goal and two assists, while producing 45 shots.

Defenseman John Ludvig is in his first season with the Winterhawks. Over 10 games, the 6’1″ defender has one assist and has a plus 4 rating.

38 Western Hockey League players were listed on the November NHL Central Scouting “Players to Watch” list and a total of 139 players were selected from the Canadian Hockey League.
