Veterans Memorial Coliseum – Portland, OR – Tuesday, October 10th  

After a 7-2 win on Sunday, the Winterhawks took on the Chiefs for a third time in five nights. Goaltender, Cole Kehler, led Portland to a 3-0 win on Tuesday night with a 43 save shutout.

Kieffer Bellows got the Hawks on the board first with a goal on a rebound with help from Skyler McKenzie and Cody Glass. Halfway into the second period, Alex Overhardt capitalized on a breakaway and potted a shorthanded goal to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.

The Winterhawks would add one more in the third, with Brad Ginnell picking up a goal on a breakaway. The Hawks improve to 6-1-0-0 on the season and have won four straight.

Prior to tonight’s game, Winterhawks goaltender Cole Kehler was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week and the WHL Goaltender of the Week. Kehler had a 2-0-0-0 record over the past weekend with a .945 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average.

Portland continues their home stretch on Saturday, October 14th at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum against the Kelowna Rockets. Tickets for the season are on sale here, and single game and group tickets now on sale.
