Join Portland’s Biggest New Year’s Eve Party!

The biggest New Year’s Eve party in Portland will take place at the Rose Garden when the Winterhawks host the Seattle Thunderbirds in the annual Dec. 31 meeting between the two rivals.

The puck drops at 8 p.m., and fans will want to bring their skates as after the game they can take to the Rose Garden ice and skate with Winterhawks players. If you don’t own skates, you can rent a pair from Winterhawks Skating Center the day of the game for $10. Fans who aren’t skaters will still have plenty to do after the game, as there will be a concourse carnival featuring skeeball, inflatable games and much more.

It all leads into a live countdown to midnight on the arena’s big screen, when there will be a balloon drop, in which fans will find cash in select balloons.

“Our New Year’s Eve game is one of the highlights of the season. It’s always a thrill for our fans to be able to get on the ice and skate alongside our players,” said Winterhawks President Doug Piper.
