The Vancouver Canucks have announced the signing of Portland Winterhawks defenseman Anton Cederholm.
The Canucks selected Cederholm in the fifth round, 145th overall, in last year’s NHL Draft, and the Winterhawks followed by taking him 60th overall in last year’s Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Cederholm played 71 games as a rookie in 2013-14, with four goals and 12 assists for 16 points. He also posted a +42 rating, which led all WHL rookies and tied for 10th overall in the league. He went on to add two goals and three assists for five points in 21 playoff games.
“Anton made the transition to North American hockey extremely well this season, and we were pleased with his play,” said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “Signing with the Canucks is a great achievement for Anton, who will be a significant part of our defensive group next season.”
