Every week we take you around the hockey world to bring updates on Winterhawks alumni in the news. Here is this week’s edition:
For Portland Winterhawks alumnus Seth Jones, the 2016-17 season has been a breakthrough one. He’s been recognized for his exceptional opening half with a nod as a member of the Metropolitan Division’s all-star team. Jones has led the Blue Jackets in ice time this season, playing over 23 minutes per game. He and fellow young defenseman Zach Werenski have quickly formed one of the most exciting and dynamic defense pairs in the National Hockey League.
Here’s some reaction from Seth on the honor on Columbus’ website:
And for your reading pleasure Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch has this article about Seth’s year following the trade with Nashville, as well as this post about the All-Star nod for a trio of Blue Jackets.
Congratulations on the honor, Seth!
