Hawks Shutout Giants in a 2-0 Win

Shane Farkas made 31 saves to pick up his first career shutout as the Hawks came away with a 2-0 win over Vancouver (25-15-4-3) on Saturday.

Both goaltenders were the story during the first two periods. Shane Farkas and David Tendeck made several massive saves to keep the game scoreless through two periods.

In the third, Shane Farkas continued to impress, stopping Vancouver on several Giants chances. 

Finally, the Winterhawks (27-15-1-3) broke through on a goal from Ty Kolle, his fifth of the year. Keoni Texeira and Dennis Cholowski picked up the assists. Mason Mannek would bury an empty net goal with under a minute remaining to put the game away.

Shane Farkas would make 31 saves for his first career shutout.
The Winterhawks are back at home tomorrow night against the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Moda Center. Tickets on sale here, and single game and group tickets now on sale.
