Winterhawks Acquire 2nd and 3rd Round Pick from Ice

The Portland Winterhawks have acquired a second-round pick in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft and a third-round pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for forward Brad Ginnell.

Ginnell, originally a fifth-round pick of the Winterhawks in 2015, was in his second season with Portland. In 76 career games with the Winterhawks, he registered 11 goals and 21 points. Ginnell also played in eight playoff games last year, contributing two goals and three points.

“We want to thank Brad for his time with our program and wish him all the best in this new opportunity.” said Head Coach, General Manager and Vice President Mike Johnston.

The Winterhawks are back in action tonight taking on the Tri-City Americans at 7:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
